ABOUT US
Cherry Mountain is a public arts space + gift shop rooted in Chicago.
Founded in 2022 by artist RELLO, Cherry Mountain brings together art, design, objects, community and culture under one roof. What began as a traditional gallery has evolved into something much more open and flexible.
We are not a gallery anymore.
Our former gallery room is now our Idea Room®, a space that can constantly change depending on the idea. It might become an open community workspace, an intimate performance piece, a film screening, a pop up, a tasting, an art exhibit or just some weird shit we thought would be cool.
The gift shop carries fine art, books, collectibles, apparel, artist editions, design objects and other things we believe deserve a place in your life.
Cherry Mountain is a creative love letter. A place where art and design come alive, people come together and you never completely know what you might find when you walk through the door.
MISSION
Cherry Mountain exists to bring art, design and people together in ways that feel accessible, alive and connected to community.
We believe art has no bounds. It does not only belong in galleries or behind glass. It can live through a painting, an object, a book, a shirt, a performance, a conversation or an experience.
Our mission is to create space for artists, ideas and people to connect without forcing everything into a traditional format. We want to bring art and ideas from around the world to Chicago while continuing to carry Chicago’s art, culture and creativity beyond the city.
No gatekeeping. No single definition of what an art space has to be.
Just community, culture and art in all the different ways it can exist.
Art is for everyone. It lives through the imaginations of the people. Without them, there is no art.
